Comparing potential upgrades
With Best in Slot lists being a static sheet of what is potentially best, what is best for you will vary with every piece of gear you obtain dueto the value of the stats constantly shifting as you obtain item level. To getthe most accurate information for your character, we advise thatyou sim your character every time a potential item drops by using the CompareGear feature with both options, item by item. The reason for this is twofold:
- An item that is not strictly ideal in an ideal fully-kitted-outgear set may be a massive upgrade for you right now (high ilvl gainson pieces, weapon upgrades, etc.)
- Likewise, an item that is in an ideal gearset may very well bea loss for you right now, either because of an ilvl difference.
We strongly advise relying on sims to gauge upgrades on an item-by-itembasis, particularly as a minor upgrade for you may very well be a largeupgrade for other players in your Raid.
For guidance on how to sim your character, we have a guide for this, whichyou can find on the link below.

Mythic+ Gear BiS List for Devastation Evoker
¨
This list contains the highest DPS setup, with farmable gear from Mythic+.This is a great place to start on a relatively new character, as you can infinitely grind out these items from Mythic+. Secondary stats for Devastation in this patchare very competitive with one another, with Critical Strike being the only outlier, as you are guaranteed to cap out on this from gear easily. A lot of these other pieces areinterchangeable with equivalent ilvl pieces of other secondary stats.

Embellishment Recommendations for Devastation Evoker
Embellishments are additional item effects present on profession gear, either as a baseline (such as Elemental Lariat) or addedas an optional reagent when crafting (such as
Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch). Thesegrant a free, additional effect to the piece.
You may only have two embellishments active at a time; this is an ordered list of which embellishmentswill provide the largest dps gain starting from the top down. Something to remember when it comes to theseembellishments is that they will not be the best in every scenario, the vast majority of the time they will, butrare exceptions will occur.
For Devastation Evokers, we recommend the following in order of priority:
Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards has a chance to proc to provideyou Versatility and Critical strike when you take damage or provide youwith Mastery and Haste when you get a Critical Strike, this will be your best in all scenarios.
Blue Silken Lining will provide you with additionalMastery while above 90% health, this is to be taken with a grain of salt as it can havea highly varied uptime depending on both the content that you do and the people whom youplay with, before committing to it as your second Embellishment i would recommendspending a little time researching the scenarios you are likely to use it in.
Acidic Hailstone Treads performs very well for single targetdamage scenarios but has a downside of permanently slowing you by 10%.The damage bonus can be enhanced furtherwith a
Toxified Armor Patch; however, this will count as both of yourembellishment options. Sim to check if this is valuable for you to do.
Allied Legguards of Sansok Khan grants your spells and abilities a chance to increasethe Versatility of you and your 4 closest allies for 10 seconds.
Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch adds the effect for your abilities to deal Shadowflame damage.
Venom-Steeped Stompers will provide you with more of your highestsecondary stat and reduce your lowest secondary stat each time it procs.
Potion Absorption Inhibitor is an optional ingredient that can beadded to crafted gear to embellish it. This will increase the duration ofpotions by 50%.
Alchemical Flavor Pocket can be added to crafted items and does notcount as an embellishment.

Best Gear To Spend Bullions On For Devastation Evoker
Season 4 offers a way to target specific, powerful items with the new Antique Bronze Bullion. Here are the best items to spend your Bullions on in Dragonflight Season 4.
Nasz'uro, the Unbound Legacy - I recommend starting with this because its upgrade path from the original ilvl is dependent on it.
Seal of Diurna's Chosen - This aswell as the next few recommendations will be BiS items which are Very Rare drop rate.
Voice of the Silent Star This is a significant DPS gain but comes with a defensive drawback costing you a large amount of Stamina.
Seal of Filial Duty Even though we are no longer Mastery hungry the increase ilvl and proc make this BiS.
Nymue's Unraveling Spindle This will be your bis trinket in all scenarios.
Ominous Chromatic Essence this will be your other bis trinket in most scenarios but may vary depending on the rest of your gear.
Whispering Incarnate Icon this has a higher priority than the trinkets that follow due to being very rare drop rate.
Belor'relos, the Suncaller /
Neltharion's Call to Chaos both these are great choices and competitive with one another in most scenarios.
6.
Devastation Evoker Tier Set.
The tier set we have been given for Fated season is the season 2 set, this is a big winas it is easily the best set we have this expansion. You will be able to acquire tier piecesfrom any of the 3 raids when they are on their respective Fated weeks, as well as well from any of the nine slots in the weeklyDragonflight Great Vault. They can also finally be made atthe Revival Catalyst as a catchup system. This armor, when enoughpieces of it are worn, unlocks two special bonuses for Devastation Evokers:
Evoker Devastation 10.1 Class Set 2pc
Evoker Devastation 10.1 Class Set 4pc
Once available, you should aim to acquire the set bonuses as soon aspossible.
- The 2-piece bonus is a damage over time effect added to your essence spenders
Pyre and
Disintegratethis is entirely passive and does not require any change in playstyle in order to maximise.
- The 4-piece bonus gives you a permanent increase to the damage of your Empowered spells
Fire Breath and
Eternity Surgewhilst also empowering your 2pc bonus by 200% for 5 seconds whenever you cast an Empowered ability, this increased bonus is applied for theduration of your
Dragonrage.
- Optimising the 4pc bonus outside of your cooldown windows does not require a large variance from the current playstyle as you were already spacingyour Empowers to maximise
Power Swell uptime, doing this becomes significantly more valuable than it did without the set.
7.
PvP Gear Recommendations for Devastation Evoker
It is essential to note that all of these items have Versatility onthem.
I recommend trying Rated Solo Shuffle as Devastation has a high amount ofinitial burst damage, which is well suited for this game mode.
8.
Trinket Recommendations for Devastation Evoker
Nymue's Unraveling Spindle is your best trinket option for season 4. Passive Intellect, as well as providing a large burstof channeled damage and a persistent mastery buff for 18 seconds afterward if you complete the channel.
Ominous Chromatic Essence is one of the best trinkets in Season 4. A large passive statstick which can be adjustedto fit the secondary stat needs that you are currently missing out on.
Belor'relos, the Suncaller another great trinket, passive Intellect with a very large nuke thathas some positioning requirements; the on-use casts an AoE around you, slowing both you and nearby enemiesafter 2 seconds, the damage is spread between all enemies inside the AoE, and you receive a DoT for 12 seconds.
Spoils of Neltharus another great trinket, passive Intellect with an on use for a choosable secondary stat, this greatly enhances your
Dragonrage Burst window.
Neltharion's Call to Chaos a very solid trinket with a minor downside attached, proccing a significant amount of Intellect but alsoincreasing the damage you take by 5%, it can have a fairly large variance in proc rate but is still very potent.
Whispering Incarnate Icon this functions as a stat stick very similar to the Ominous Chromatic Essence, whilst beingslightly weaker it is also a Very Rare drop so harder to attain without spending Bullions.
Pip's Emerald Friendship Badge one of the more unique trinkets of the patch, grants passive Intellect and allowsyou to pair with one of 3 best friends, granting you a permanent bonus to Crit/Mastery/Versatility depending on who you arepaired with, as well as a chance to tag in a new best friend, switching the bonus and empowering it substantially.
9.
Flightstone Upgrades
Dragonflight Season 4 continues with the Flightstones upgrade system and functions exactly the same as it hasso far, doing higher-level Mythic+ or Raid content will yield items on a higher upgrade path, allowing you to reach amaximum ilvl of 522 in M+ or 528 in Mythic Raid.
For more information on the new Gear Upgrades system, check out our dedicatedpage for it below.
Dragonflight Gear Upgrade System
As with Valor, the cost to upgrade scales differs per slot but now alsoincreases quickly as item levels go up.
We recommend upgrading your Weapon first, as this will provide you with thelargest DPS gain.

Enchants and Sockets
Once you have obtained a piece of gear containing a prismatic socket orneeding to be enchanted, you will need to know how to modify it. Details aboutthese tweaks can be found on our dedicated gems, enchants, and consumables page.
