Those of you that readRecipeThis.com on a regular basis will know that I live with my family inPortugal. That I spent the first 26 years of my life living in England and themost recent 11 years living in Portugal.

What you might not know is that I also have an American family. Two out of the four aunts on my mothers’ side of the family, married men from the American armed forces and eventually moved over to the US.

This meant that whenever they were visiting us in England when I was growing up there was always an American food influence.

My mum loved it because she got to try food long before it had become popular in England.

I remember her telling me about the first time she had sushi and how when her sister made it for her, it wasn’t in the UK at all.

It also means that I have a better than most knowledge of American Vs UK cuisine and that over the years I have learnt more and more cooking terms.

Especially, since making so many amazing American friends through Recipe This.

I know if I need to, I can callon any of my friends that I have made, and they will tell me what it is on theother side of the ocean.

Air Fryer Biscuits Are A Great Example.

In the UK we would call them savoury scones or dumplings andjust like in America love them as part of a hearty meal.

In the US they would be referred to as biscuits, flaky biscuits, oreven buttermilk biscuits depending on the final recipe.

The ingredientswill also vary slightly, but the end result will be similar. For example, the Britishversion will have a much lower butter count and uses cheese to combine theingredients together.

When I havetasted them, there is not much difference between the British version and theAmerican cheese biscuits. This is the type of air fryer biscuits that I amgoing to be showing you how to make today.

If you love air fryer cheese biscuits then these will be perfect for you, just like if you love dumplings over your beef stew you will also love them!

Can You Air Fry Biscuits?

YES YES YES! Can I shout from the roof tops and say how amazing the air fryer is for cooking delicious homemade biscuits????

They cook them so well and give you a wonderful crunch on the outside and a tender in the dough in the centre.

They are also perfect because while you make stew in your instant pot or slow cooker, your air fryer can be making you warm biscuits to go with it at the same time.

Air FryerBiscuit Dough

I always start by making my airfryer biscuit dough. The biscuit dough ingredients are thrown into one ofmy favourite mixing bowls and then I combine the ingredients into a beautifuldough.

The greatest thing of all, isthat you can also freeze leftover biscuit dough for later or use them for allkinds of cooking.

Air Fryer BiscuitsFrom Scratch

Recipe This | Air Fryer Biscuits (3)

I love baking from scratch andhate to bake from a packet. It is just so much fun baking and making air fryerbiscuits from scratch are so easy too.

You can also control what ingredientsgo into your air fryer biscuits.

For example, if you plan on servingthem with a chicken dish you can load up the dough ingredients with tarragon,or parsley if it is with a fish dish.

What Ingredients& Gadgets Go Into Air Fryer Biscuits?

Recipe This | Air Fryer Biscuits (4)

There are 6 main ingredients that go into air fryer cheesebiscuits:

I would recommend before making your air fryer biscuitsthat you have a good air fryer or an air fryer with a non-stick basket. That isbecause there are so many cheap brands of air fryers, that are just not verygood and air fryers that are not non-stick.

What I do recommend is the Philips Air Fryer XL and these air fryer accessories. They are perfect for getting you started and using in our air fryer cheese biscuits and many other air fryer recipes of ours.

Though, the main air fryer accessory that we are using today in our air fryer, is the air fryer grill pan. It works perfectly when cooking dough or food that you want to secure in place.

Air Fryer ButtermilkBiscuits

If you would like to makebuttermilk biscuits instead of our cheese biscuits, then you just need a simpleingredient swap. Instead of milk you use buttermilk and half the butter quantity.
