You can celebrate, take in a free movie with the kids, dance — salsa, line and square, and check out the latest art exhibit that has landed in the city during this weekend's full slate of events in Wichita Falls.

Celebrations in observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is Sept. 15-Oct. 15, offer the opportunity to enjoy Mexican food and culture at the annual Fiestas Patrias at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. And a car show, food and live music are among the offerings at El Grito Festival downtown.

The opening reception for "Birds in Art," a traveling exhibition at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU Texas, will have live birds on hand from Wild Bird Rescue to educate attendees Saturday afternoon.

The city is also going to be hopping with opportunities to move to the music in a variety of settings, and families can munch free popcorn while watching a Mutant Ninja Turtles movie — also free — at the Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market.
