Around Town Holly Ridge Happenings A little Walk Around Yourself When you're critizing others and finding here and there A fault or two to speak of or a weakness you can't bear When you're blaming someone's weakness Or accusing some of self It's time that you went out to walk around yourself There are lots of human failures in the average of us all And lots of grave in short ones and the tall But when you think of evils. men should lay upon the shelves It's time we all went out To take a walk around our selves We need so often in this life, This balancing of scales This seeing how much in us wins and how much in us fails But before you judge another just to lay him on the shelf It would be a splendid plan To take a walk around yourslef! Coming by on Tuesday was an old school friend. David Jeffries from Mobile Ala. He ask about so many, but was on his way to Bastrop to check on his ninty-one year old motherin-law.

It was so good to see Brother Pat and his sweet wife, Kathryn again.

(He was our interim pastor (maybe more than once) when we were searching for a fulltime pastor in bygone years. After the morning worship, I joined Nona and James Garner along with Laura Pierce and Gloria Traxler for lunch at Popeye's it's just hard to beat that crispy, fried chicken. It tastes even better when eaten in the company of good friends. My son, Kirby, and his wife, Linda, drove down to attend the revival at Calvary Baptist Church on Sunday night. That is the church nearest the home of my grand-daughter, Kristi and her husband.

Roy Wiggins, Jr. and that is where they attend regularly. I went to the regular monthly meeting of senior adults, Saints Alive at First Baptist Church here on Monday night. Oh, my, my, the food (covered dish supper) was so delicious and so plentiful. I enjoyed it very much and a lot of it.

After the meal, everyone traveled over to the church sanctuary for the special musical program which was brought to us by Greg Bennett, former music director for several years at FBC. (Gregg is still at First Baptist Church in Crossett, AR.) He introduced the three men he had brought from his home church and they then proceeded to perform the most heavenly singing I've ever heard without any music. (No music was needed their voices blended, soared and fell in absolute harmony.) Wonder- ful, wonderful I could have listened to them for another hour at least As I was driving home after the Saints Alive meeting, I saw several cars still at the Mulhearn Funeral Home where the visitation was going on for Mr. Dock Hill. I debated whether to stop since I never really knew Mr.

Hill very well; but, I decided to stop anyway and perhaps visit with friends whom I'd not seen in a while. I had barely gotten in the front door before I felt a pair of strong arms enclose me for a sweet, friendly hug. When I got turned around to see the perpetrator, I was surprised to see that it was our longtime friend, Richard Davis so I returned his hug with fervor. Richard and his wife, Sylvia were members of my church (Woodlawn BC) for several years along with their daughter, Dee-Dee. Richard was our adult choir director and Sylvia and Dee-Dee were both in the choir.

Also, our family bought two or three cars through Richard's guidance in the years that he worked at the Chevrolet dealership in Winnsboro. Anyway, I was so glad that I decided to stop at Mulhearn's Monday night because I met up with a special friend who says he is now completely retired from any kind of business. Way to And, our sympathy is offered to the family and many friends of Mr. Dock Hill in the loss of this loved one. May God's great peace and love be sufficient during their time of great need.

A correction that's what I need to make in last week's Outlook when I was listing the ladies in my Sunday School class who attended the wonderful breakfast on Saturday morning at the home of Evelyn Long. I named Betty Colvin and Linda Colvin, course, the correct name was Betty Parker and I'm sure most of you readers figured that out after all, she was born a Colvin. Anyway, sorry about that, Betty. (I surely do not claim to always write a perfect news column which is always correct in every detail but, I do strive to do the best that I possibly can.) So, let's see what I can recall to share with you in this week's Outlook.

It's always good for me to go back to Sunday which usually begins for me at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Sunday School first and then in the worship service. Attendance was up a bit although our pastor was absent due to his preaching a revival at Calvary Baptist Church in rural Mangham. In his absence, one of our favorite supply pastors, Rev. Pat Loftin of Epps, preached the morning and evening Melba Hendrix.
